Opening Reception for Boston Camera Club’s Outdoor Photo Exhibition Draws Crowd to Seaport
The rain subsided just in time for the Opening Reception of the Boston Camera Club’s photography exhibition, The Focused Eye: Our Unique Views on July 25, 2021 in Boston’s Seaport District. The Sunday afternoon gathering was a celebration of the year-long project that culminated in featuring 88 large-scale member images printed on a 250-ft long banner, complemented with additional creative content by local community partners.
The Public Green on Fan Pier was filled with a large crowd for the reception as attendees came to view the outdoor exhibition and to interact with the participating photographers and community partners in attendance. In addition to light refreshments, a drawing was held to win a free one-year membership to the Boston Camera Club (a $70 value)!

Opening Reception for Photo Banner
Postponed to July 25th Due To Rain Forecast
The Boston Camera Club has postponed its Opening Reception for its outdoor photography exhibition, The Focused Eye: Our Unique Views, to Sunday, July 25th, 1-3pm due to the rain forecast on the originally scheduled date of July 18th.
The opening reception will be held at the exhibition site at the Public Green on Fan Pier in Boston’s Seaport District (intersection of Northern Ave. & Marina Park Dr.). Participating photographers and community partners who contributed creative content will be on-hand to celebrate the expansive visual experience featuring 88 large-scale images printed on a 250-ft long banner.

BNN “Around Town” TV Documentary Brings Together Photographers and Community Voices for Boston Camera Club Exhibition in Seaport
Opening Reception on July 18th
The Boston Neighborhood Network (BNN) “Around Town” TV show released a 30-minute documentary of The Focused Eye: Our Unique Views, the Boston Camera Club’s outdoor photography exhibition. Filmed on location at the Public Green on Fan Pier in Boston’s Seaport District, the program brought together the voices of the participating photographers and the community partners that created their own art in response to the images. The show features exclusive interviews and a fascinating presentation by curator Emily Belz who sequenced the photographs for the banner exhibition.

What better place to take in art than the outdoors? The Boston Camera Club is exhibiting a 250-foot-long banner of photography on the Fan Pier’s Public Green in Boston’s Seaport District. Titled “The Focused Eye: Our Unique Views,” the exhibition features 88 images by Boston Camera Club members. The photographs are lined up and connected by themes such as color, composition and subject matter to form a unique array of local artists. An artists reception will take place July 18 from 1-3pm.

Spanning an entire city block at Northern Avenue and Marina Park Drive, the exhibition is open to the public through November 2021.

Members of the Boston Camera Club nimbly managed through an uncertain weather forecast during the Memorial Day weekend to install the 250-ft photo banner exhibition at Fan Pier in Boston's Seaport District. Laying out the vinyl banner in sections, the installation crew raised each panel to secure the exhibition along the Public Green. The Focused Eye: Our Unique Views features 88 large-scale images of BCC members in a curated sequence creating a stunning visual experience.
