Boston Camera Club
THE FOCUSED EYE: Our Unique Viewswww.bostoncameraclub.org
My first involvement with a camera, as a way of capturing and sharing how I would see the world around me, started with a used camera my father gave me in 1958. After graduating from MassArt in 1969 with a BFA in Graphic Design, photography took a backseat to my building a career in design. However, after retiring my creativity returned to photography as the primary way of expressing my art.
Having studied the work of street photography pioneer Henri Cartier-Bresson in the sixties, his work left a permanent influence on how I would view the world around me.
I observe people as they move through their daily lives in ordinary places doing ordinary things. Through patience, perseverance and often luck I am rewarded with a “decisive moment.” A treasured moment that tells a story that is bigger than the split second of its existence. A moment that can last forever through images. Sharing these moments with others is a passion fulfilled.
