“Ice Crystals on Glass” is a great example of “catching the moment.” The crystal pattern vanished rapidly as the sun’s rays moved out of the shadows onto the window. I just happened to notice it shortly before it melted and quickly grabbed my DSLR camera and snapped the photo. The intricate, organized ice patterns dissolved into ordinary streams of water. It’s surprising how we can spend countless hours composing a shot and making adjustments and yet some beautiful pictures can be captured on the spur of the moment with little aforethought. There’s a lesson there somewhere.
