Cliff Berger is a cardiologist and amateur photographer. He has loved photography since he had a black and white darkroom as a child. He loves to travel (when there isn’t a worldwide pandemic) and tends to take more camera equipment than clothes on a trip. This photo was taken on a trip to the South Island of New Zealand in 2019. “The Lone Tree of Lake Wanaka” is one of the most photographed trees in the world. This was a four second exposure taken just before sunrise and shows the beauty of the tree surrounded by the lake and mountains, with mist over the water before daybreak.

The imagery in the "The Lone Tree of Lake Wanaka, NZ" photograph inspired our youth ensemble to share these words from Prospero in The Tempest by William Shakespeare.
